Hi,
I deployed a Silverlight 5 application which supports Elevated Trust mode, so the XAPs are signed with a currently valid code signing certificate. This certificate expires in a few weeks, so I have some questions:
1) What happens to existing installations of my application when the current certificate expires? Will the application still be usable without problems (the expired certs matches), or is it necessary to update the application and client certificate immediatelly as soon as the certificate expires?
2) How to replace the certificate? Can I simply buy a new code signing certificate, sign my app with it and deploy including the new certificate? Does it work to update existing installations of my application in the following manner:
- Uninstall old version of application (signed with old certificate)
- Install new certificate on client computers
- Install new version of application (signed with new certificate)
