Can I supress silverlight saying it needs and update

We have an app that uses Silverlight, but the end users don't have access to update Silverlight on there machines. Is there a way that I can suppress the popup saying you need to update Silverlight. I have inserted a DWORD in the registry Update Mode and set it to 2 which is no updates.

1. will this stop the popups

2. will I still be able to update Silverlight via sccm
