Netflix asked me to uninstall and re-install Silverlight; it had been working just fine. Here's what I've done, and what my computer tells me:
Tried to install Silverlight 5 from the Silverlight page; "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version compatible with your PC, please check with the software publisher."
I read some forums, and went to the Fix It Control Center for Silverlight. I tried both the "Fix it For Me" button and the manual method of copying the provided text and putting it into a folder with the .cmd extension and running it as administrator. I tried this several times, restarting my PC between each try.
I found links to Silverlight 4 and the 32-bit version of Silverlight. All of these give me the same response from my computer. I've disabled the Windows Smart Screen, too, just in case. I must have run the Fix It troubleshooter about a dozen times now. No
luck. At the end it just tells me that Silverlight is not installed on the computer. No kidding...I also ran the program compatibility troubleshooter, but no luck with that, either.
I'm at a loss, because I've tried every suggestion I could find anywhere, and they seemed to work for other folks. Help!
